The Department of Education (DepEd) announced Wednesday that its online platform DepEd Commons has reached 8 million users as it prepares for the shift to ‘blended’ learning.
DepEd Commons serves as the online repository of workbooks, and other learning materials for public school students and teachers. Learning materials on the website can be downloaded for free.
“Sa mga hindi pa po nakakasubok ng DepEd Commons, bisitahin lang ang commons.deped.gov.ph.,” DepEd Undersecretary Alain Pascua said.

The online platform is part of the Public Schools of the Future Framework of DepEd, Pascua added.
DepEd meanwhile reminded parents not to worry about internet access and gadgets for the upcoming school year since education will not be limited to online learning.
Digital learning materials can be distributed via flash drives for those with gadgets but have no access to the internet, DepEd Undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio said.
“Ang gagawin po dito, iyong mga digital learning materials, e-books, iyong learning resources ay ipapadala sa mga bahay sa pamamagitan ng flash drives at doon nila bubuksan at pag-aaralan iyong mga aralin,” he said.
(Digital learning materials will be distributed through flash drives.)
For those without gadgets, San Antonio said DepEd will provide printed self-learning modules.
