The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), in coordination with the Department of Education, will hold the First Philhealth National Quiz Bee for Grades 10-12 students for SY 2019-2020.
The competition aims to
a. test the knowledge of students on PhilHealth products and services;
b. check their spelling abilities on health-related terms,
c. enhance and deepen their knowledge about PhilHealth,
d. encourage them to become advocates of Philhealth,
e. serve as a venue for the improvement of Philhealth Learner’s Material (PLM), and
f. boost the adoption of PLM by private secondary schools.
The competition will be conducted in four levels:
| Level | Description | |
| I | Division Level | DepEd schools division offices will conduct the elimination or selection of contestants for the Regional and PhilHealth Regional Office (PRO) National Capital Region (NCR) Branch Levels. One winner per school division shall be chosen for the Level II competition. |
| II | Regional and PRO NCR Branch Level | Competition among champions of Level I |
| III | Area and PRO NCR Level | Competition among champions of Level II |
| IV | National Level | Competition among the champions from each area: North Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and PRO NCR. |
The mechanics of the competition are provided in the enclosure, as well as other supporting documents, guides, and requirements.
Prized for the Level 1 of the competition and all necessary expenses for the conduct of Levels II-IV shall be charged to PhilHealth. Transportation and accommodation of qualified contestants for Levels III-IV, their coach and one family member, shall be shouldered by the PhilHealth.
