Four Filipino Students Win Big at 2024 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair


MANILA, Philippines — Four Filipino high school students have brought prestigious honors to the country by excelling in the 2024 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), renowned as the world’s largest pre-college competition in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education. The Department of Education (DepEd) announced their victories on Wednesday, commending the students for their remarkable achievements in science and technology.

Three of the winners, Michaela Ria Rentuza, Mikaella Rose Macabata, and Wesley Secuya, are from Cebu City National Science High School. They secured the fourth grand award in the Cellular and Molecular Biology Category at the Regeneron ISEF. Additionally, Arnon Yzabel Guinto from Tarlac National High School was honored with the National Geographic Society’s Excellence in Geography and Geospatial Science Award.

“Patuloy nating pasiklabin ang ating pagmamahal sa pagtuklas at paglikha para sa mas magandang kinabukasan,” the DepEd stated, emphasizing the importance of fostering a passion for discovery and innovation for a brighter future.
