Release update of Medical Examination Allowance for Teachers


In the dialogue between the DBM officials and the Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT), they discussed as part of the meeting the medical allowance for teachers.

According to Manila Public School Teachers Association – MPSTA ACT NCR UNION they mentioned that the said medical allowance is already in their legal department and is now finding possible ways to release it this December.

Medical Examination Allowance was proposed by the Department of Education (DepED to cover the yearly medical examination for teachers. This is one of the proposed benefits of teachers vetoed by President Rodrigo Duterte subject to conditional implementation in the FY 2019 General Appropriations Act.



As part of the report on the ongoing dialogue between the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) as posted in Manila Public School Teachers Association – MPSTA ACT NCR UNION Facebook post, dated November 30, 2019, the DBM has provided an update regarding the vetoed P500 medical allowance for teachers.

“Update sa P500 vetoed medical allowance. Nasa legal department na ito ng DBM, titingnan nila kung posible pa itong maibigay at kunsakali ay sisikaping matanggap ito ng mga guro ngayong Disyembre,” they said.
