The Secretary confirmed it herself saying that she already tested negative for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“Early this morning nag-text sa akin si (DOH) Secretary (Francisco) Duque na ang resulta ng test ko, sa akin lamang, ay negative,” she said in an interview on GMA News’ Unang Balita.
Since April 8 Secretary Briones had been in isolation after knowing that she was positive for COVID-19 based on results from the samples taken from here.
DOH requires two negative test results before someone is declared totally recovered from COVID-19. And it was not mentioned in the news if this is already the second test for the Secretary.
“Hinihintay pa namin ang resulta sa pamilya ko,” Sec. Briones said.
“I’m still being careful dahil ‘yung aking staff, mga 25 of them, are also undergoing tests pa. Hindi ibig sabihin magiging careless lang tayo… Kailangan makipag-cooperate pa rin sa lahat ng mga mandato at advise ng Department of Health,” Briones added.
