The Department of Education is honoring the role of educators in September for National Teachers’ Month (NTM), which starts on September 5 and ends on October 5 (World Teachers’ Day).
This year’s theme is “Gurong Filipino para sa Batang Filipino”, which especially recognizes the valuable work and commitment teachers bring in delivering education, most notably amid the global health crisis.
Several activities are lined up for NTM, starting off with a virtual ceremonial kickoff event hosted by DepEd Region 1, led by DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones, along with DepEd Undersecretary for External Partnerships Service Tonisito Umali, NTM Coordinating Council (NTDCC) Co-chairperson Aniceto Sobrepena, as well as
other DepEd representatives and the Metrobank Foundation.
Teachers are expected to receive different kinds of tokens of gratitude throughout the NTM.
The public is enjoined to likewise honor their teachers through the use of a profile picture frame on Facebook with the hashtag #ThankYouTeacherPH” and the phrase “My Teacher, My Hero”.
