The Department of Education (DepEd) has announced that the End-of-School-Year (EOSY) Rites for SY 2023-2024 will be held from May 29–31.
According to DepEd Memorandum No. 023, series of 2024, released on May 2, the EOSY rites will include graduation and moving-up ceremonies.
DepEd stressed the importance of keeping these ceremonies simple and meaningful, discouraging excessive spending on attire or extravagant venues.
Non-academic projects like field trips and promenades should not be considered graduation or completion requirements, clarified DepEd.
DepEd also reiterated that schools should not collect any contributions or fees for these ceremonies.
For safety, DepEd advised conducting these activities indoors with proper ventilation or in covered courts to avoid extreme weather exposure.
