One of these is the Chief Girl Scout Medal Scheme (CGSMS), a special program created in 1975 encouraging Senior and Cadet Girl Scouts (young women aged 15-17) to initiate and implement in their respective barangays a one year community project focusing on health, cultural heritage, livelihood, and ecology. Now on its 43rd year, the Chief Girl Scout Award remains GSP’s most prestigious award. To date, it has awarded a total of 10,766 medalists.

This year, the GSP will honor 850 young women from all over the country, who have successfully undertaken various community development projects under the scheme.
