No Class Suspension for July 28, Says DepEd

  • by

The Department of Education (DepEd) said on Sunday that a video online about no classes on Monday, July 28, is not true.

The video was made using artificial intelligence (AI). It shows a woman like a news anchor saying that classes are suspended. Behind her, there’s a background saying “SONA Walang Pasok Advisory.”

But DepEd said: “That video is fake.”

They told the public not to believe it and to only check DepEd’s official Facebook page or website for real announcements.

What’s True About July 28?

In Quezon City only, there will be no classes in all schools, public and private on Monday, July 28.

This is because of President Marcos Jr.’s State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Mayor Joy Belmonte of Quezon City signed an order to cancel classes so:

  • People can watch the SONA
  • Everyone can avoid heavy traffic

Reminder from DepEd:

  • Don’t believe fake videos or random Facebook pages.
  • Follow only DepEd’s official accounts for news about class suspensions.
