Senate approves bill increasing public teachers’ allowance to up to P10K

Lusot na sa third at final reading ng Senado and Senate Bill No. 1092 o ang Teaching Supplies Allowance Act.

The bill aims to institutionalize the staggered increase of teaching supplies allowance of public school teachers to up to P10,000 in the next four years.

With strong support from the senators it got 22 affirmative votes and no negative votes, they approved Senate Bill No. 1092 during the plenary session.

For the current school year, the allowance to be given to each public school teacher is P3,500.

“We have passed once again this measure that recognizes the hardships and sacrifices, the invaluable contributions of our teachers to the society,” Revilla said during their session, thanking his colleagues for their support of the bill.

“We are a step closer to realizing a better working environment for our teachers. However, there are still a lot of things to be done to uplift and improve the welfare of our teachers,” he added.

Teachers group immediately posted on their page thanking the senators for getting unanimous vote approving the bill.
