Teachers in areas with class suspensions due to COVID-19 are not required to report

Teachers who are in areas with class suspensions due to COVID-19 are not required to report to their respective schools.

DepEd Undersecretary Alain Pascua says that they are already making a DepEd memorandum on the matter. They will also include that teachers are not required to return to the school to disinfect their classrooms.

“Hindi na required mag-report ang ating mga guro sa public schools, Kung may learner-related matter na kailangan nilang asikasuhin o may trabaho na hindi magagawa online maaari silang pumasok sa school.” Usec Alain Pascua wrote on his Facebook page.

Meanwhile, a memo was released giving guidelines to alternative online learning platforms to respond to class suspensions. Pascua advise teachers to work at home online.

Teachers are only obligated to report at schools if there is an order from the Division superintendent.

“Maaari din ani Pascua na ma-obliga ang isang guro na mag-report sa paaralan kung may order na manggagaling sa kanilang Division Supt.” said Remate on their news report.

Right now classes in all areas of Metro Manila are suspended for at least a month or until April 14.
