Robredo thanks teachers for learning continuity efforts

Vice President Leni Robredo on Friday expressed her gratitude to teachers for their efforts in ensuring the continuous delivery of education amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an interview with Radyo Turo-Guro, Robredo shared that the Office of the Vice President (OVP) is willing to lend assistance to the different regional and provincial offices of the Department of Education (DepEd).

“We want to give the assurance that our office is just here, we’re willing to help in whatever way we can,” she said.

As a former teacher herself, Robredo empathized with the challenges educators face. She also urged teachers to foster more creative ways to deliver education.

“While there are hardships, we might be able to create new ways of educating our children,” she said. “I would also like to challenge all of you to use this opportunity to be even more creative in what you’re doing already,” she ended.

Earlier in October, Robredo aired teachers’ concerns with regard to the lack of resources for modular learning and risks with the distribution of materials amid the global health crisis.
