#WALANGPASOK: Class Suspension for Selected Areas (July 1, 2019)

Due to Tropical Depression “EGAY”, together with southwest monsoon rains (Habagat), some classes on affected areas will be suspended on Monday, July 1, 2019.

According to PAGASA, as of 1:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression “EGAY” was estimated based on all available data at 175 km East of Calayan, Cagayan (19.5 °N, 123.1 °E ). Moving Almost Stationary with a maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kph

They added, today, the Southwest Monsoon will bring light to moderate with at times heavy monsoon rains over most of Luzon, including Metro Manila, and Western Visayas, while cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao Region, and the rest of Visayas. Tomorrow (02 July), monsoon rains may continue over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Mindoro Provinces and Palawan.

    • Malabon – preschool to senior high school, public and private
    • Navotas – preschool to senior high school, public and private

    LUZON

    • Mariveles, Bataan – all levels, public and private
    • Balagtas, Bulacan – all levels, public and private
    • Baliwag, Bulacan – all levels, public and private
    • Bustos, Bulacan – preschool to senior high school, public and private
    • Bocaue, Bulacan – all levels, public and private
    • Hagonoy, Bulacan – all levels, public and private
    • Lian, Batangas – preschool to senior high school, public and private
    • Marilao, Bulacan – all levels, public and private
    • Meycauayan, Bulacan – all levels, public and private
    • Paombong, Bulacan – all levels, public and private
    • Sta. Maria, Bulacan – all levels, public and private
    • Angeles, Pampanga – pre-elementary to elementary, public and private

Mayor Joni Villanueva of Bocaue, Bulacan cited for the suspension of classes: “In anticipation of possible flash floods due to scattered moderate to heavy rains and thunder storms brought by southwest monsoon intensified by Tropical Depression Egay from 9am to 12nn and high tide level at 1.18m around 8:23am that may cause ponding in some schools and a way of preventive measure for the safety of students.”
